We're making a small, but handy update to our services. We've heard your feedback regarding the management of large log files, especially for those using custom services like Splunk.
So, what's new?
- Log Rotation: From now on, Nginx service will handle log rotation automatically, removing the need for manual intervention.
- File Size Limit: Rotation will trigger once a log file hits a certain size. You can set this limit yourself, or use the default value we provide.
- File Naming: Post rotation, new files will end in '.0', with older files following a sequential order ('.1', '.2', etc.).
- Stability: The Nginx process will not be interrupted during rotation, ensuring your services continue running smoothly.
We've tested this update extensively to ensure it works as expected. Any failure in the log rotation process will be handled and reported appropriately.
