Issue
- I upgraded to DXP 7.4 u77. We are using an LDAP server. When I try to edit users via the Users and Organization or Account Settings, I receive an error in the UI: "Users and Organizations is temporarily unavailable" or "Account Settings is temporarily unavailable" with an error in the log.
Reproduction Steps:
- Set up DXP 7.4 with u77+
- Open the Main Menu --> Control Panel --> Instance Settings --> Security --> LDAP and under the "General" tab check the box for "Use LDAP Password Policy", then save.
- Go to Users and Organizations and try to edit any user.
Result: We receive the following UI error:
Users and Organizations is temporarily unavailable.
The same error occurs when trying to access the account settings of the user from the user profile:
Account Settings is temporarily unavailable. An error in the log appears like this:
ERROR [http-nio-8080-exec-8][PortletRequestDispatcherImpl:304] Unable to dispatch request: java.lang.NullPointerException
ERROR [http-nio-8080-exec-8][PortletServlet:118] Unable to process portlet com_liferay_my_account_web_portlet_MyAccountPortlet: org.apache.jasper.JasperException: java.lang.NullPointerException

Environment
- Liferay DXP 7.4 u77+
Resolution
- This is a known issue and is caused by LPS-179689.
- The case is resolved by LPS-188257. The fix will be included in the next upcoming update. You have the option to request a hotfix or wait for the u83 release.
