Note: please note that Liferay has renamed its Liferay Experience
Could offerings to Liferay SaaS (formerly LXC) and
Liferay PaaS (formerly LXC-SM).
Issue
- Want to configure mail but am unable to see Server Administration on the server as it is hidden for the Liferay SaaS environment.
Environment
- Liferay DXP 7.1
- Liferay DXP 7.2
- Liferay DXP 7.3
- Liferay DXP 7.4
Resolution
- Liferay provides a default SMTP server for the Liferay SaaS environment which is 'Flowmailer' for initial user setup and configurations.
- To set up your own SMTP server, it is needed to set up the SMTP provider at the virtual instance level as System Settings can't be accessed.
Additionally, if you do not configure an email server at the Virtual Instance level, you can continue to be able to send email via the server configured at the System level i.e. Flowmailer. - To set up Mail Configuration at the Virtual Instance level, Open the Product Menu and navigate to the Control Panel → Configuration → Instance Settings → Email → Mail Settings.
- Now, follow this: How to set up a Mail Server with DXP to receive email notifications?
(Kindly consider 'Navigate toControl Panel-> System-> Server Administration-> Mail
' as 'Navigate to the Control Panel → Configuration → Instance Settings → Email → Mail Settings' in the above article)
