Issue
- While monitoring Liferay Cloud, different instance IDs of the database are shown in the log section and monitoring section of Cloud Console.
Environment
- Liferay DXP 7.1
- Liferay DXP 7.2
- Liferay DXP 7.3
- Liferay DXP 7.4
Resolution
- In Liferay Cloud, the database service works as a proxy to connect to the underlying Google Cloud SQL instance.
- The monitoring tool provides monitoring of application performance, infrastructure, and more, and in the case of the database, the metrics that are shown here are of the underlying Google Cloud SQL instance to provide us the performance-related information of the database.
- The instance ID shown in the monitoring tool is of the underlying Google Cloud SQL instance and the ID shown in the logs is of the database service that is working as a proxy.
- Please note that as per the Liferay architecture, the database service would always be a single unit/single instance. However, talking about Liferay DXP or other services, we can have multiple instances.
