Ability to add an image from URL as a Blog Cover Image

Issue

• Can an image from a URL be used as a Blog Cover Image?
• Steps to reproduce:
  1. Navigate to content > blog
  2. Add a new entry
  3. Add an image to the content.
  4. Observe the tab 'URL', the user can click on it and use it
  5. Close this popup
  6. At the beginning of the blog, a banner can be added, click on it
  Observed Behavior: Users cannot see tab 'URL'. 

Environment

• Liferay DXP  [all versions]

Resolution

• Adding an image from a URL as a Blog Cover Image is not feasible. This is due to the fact that the cover image only works with image FileEntries rather than document or image URLs.
• However, a feature request is in progress to address this concern: This issue can be tracked here.
