Issue
- When attempting to upgrade the Liferay version using the Upgrade Tool users are met with the following error message: "Error: Could not find or load main class [class name]", and the upgrade fails to process.
Environment
- Liferay DXP 7.4
Resolution
- This error can be caused by spaces in the file path.
- This issue will be addressed in a future Liferay release, however LPS-192649 offers a workaround that involves removing any spaces from the file path, as shown in the examples below:
With Spaces:
- /home/user/Liferay/Bundle/7.4/with space/liferay-dxp-7.4.13.u74
Without Spaces
- /home/user/Liferay/Bundle/7.4/withoutspace/liferay-dxp-7.4.13.u74
