Unable to use Utility Pages in my Liferay SaaS environment

Note: please note that Liferay has renamed its Liferay Experience Could offerings to Liferay SaaS (formerly LXC) and Liferay PaaS (formerly LXC-SM).

Issue

  • Are there any restrictions on the use of utility pages in LXC environments?

  • After updating the environment to a version where the Utility Pages functionality is released, I am unable to use my customized page and the Portal continues to display the page that comes by default in Liferay.

Resolution

  • Utility Pages is a feature that was added in newer versions of DXP and the Cloud team wanted to keep the user experience consistent by keeping 404 pages by default for existing customers.

  • If you are unable to use your custom page, our Cloud team may need to remove the default 404 error page from your web server configuration so that Liferay can display your custom page instead of the default page.
