Reviewer is unable to open the file after downloading from workflow task

Issue

  • In the workflow task when the reviewer downloads the file, the users are unable to open it because in the properties it shows a '0' byte.
  • Steps to reproduce:
  1. Navigate to Control Panel > Users and Organizations, and create a new user.
  2. Now, navigate to Process Builder, and select 'review'. Select the assignment type user, and choose the user created in step 1.
  3. Created a form with an upload field and configured the form with a single approver.
  4. Fill out the form and click on 'Submit for workflow. 
    Observed behavior: The reviewer is able to download the file but is unable to open it. In properties, it shows a '0' byte.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.4

Resolution

  1. Navigate to the Control Panel > Roles.
  2. Click on the 'User' on the Regular Roles list.
  3. Navigate to 'Define Permissions'.
  4. In 'Site and Asset Library administration.
  5. Search for "Forms" and click on the Forms options
  6. In the "Form Instance" section, click the checkbox 'View'.

Now, a reviewer will be able to open the downloaded file in the workflow task. Will not show the property '0' bytes.
