System-ext.properties Reference Guide

This article serves as a reference guide for how to set system wide properties through the system-ext.properties file.

Similar to the relationship between the portal.properties and portal-ext.properties files, administrators can affect system wide changes in the system.properties by modifying the system-ext.properties file.

To make changes to system.properties, create a file called system-ext.properties and place it in a folder that resides in the platform installation's class path such as /WEB-INF/classes.

Please note that LPS-56818 introduced a change where two properties have been renamed:

• system.properties.load is now system.properties.set.
• system.properties.final is now system.properties.set.override.

Introductory notes in the system.properties file have been be changed in Liferay DXP 7.0 Fix Pack 47.
