Disabling jQuery breaks Control Panel and Login Portlet

After disabling jQuery in DXP 7.2, it is no longer possible to close the control panel, expand the "Users" and other sections, and the login portlet breaks as well, resulting in reduced portal functionality. Is this a bug, and if so, is there a fix for it?

DXP 7.2
Resolution
We can confirm that this is not a bug, and we cannot consider it as one.
In DXP 7.2, our JS components are still dependent on jQuery. We removed jQuery in DXP 7.3 after we updated our components not to rely on it. The following document gives some information about the breaking change:
